Ingredients

Instructions

  • Line an 8x8" (20x20cm) square pan, or 10x6" (25x15cm) rectangle pan, with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Melt the white chocolate in a saucepan over very low heat. As it starts to melt slightly, add the condensed milk. Keep stirring regularly so the chocolate does not burn, until the mixture is smooth and melted.
  • When the chocolate and condensed milk are melted, add the spices and vanilla to the mixture and stir well to incorporate. Remove the pan from heat.
  • Stir in the sifted powdered sugar, then beat the mixture using a spoon, stand mixer or hand blender, until thick and smooth.
  • Pour the fudge mixture into the lined pan. Gently press the broken cookies into the top of the fudge, then set aside in a cool place to set for at least 2 hours to firm up. If you live somewhere warm, you can put the pan into the fridge for an hour to speed things along.
  • When the fudge is set, cut into small pieces and store in an airtight container at cool room temperature or in the fridge. If you want to store it for more than a week, keep the container in the freezer so the cookies don't turn stale.

Notes

  1. This fudge recipe is incredibly versatile. Almost any broken up crunchy cookie will work for the topping, so feel free to swap out the sugar cookies for other festive Christmas cookies like my best ever gingerbread recipe, or any bought cookies you enjoy.
  2. If you want to change it up further, skip the cookies altogether, adding dried or candied fruit or toasted nuts. Or go all-out with the sweet stuff and put crushed up holiday candies all over the top. The flavor combinations are endless, and no matter how you customize it, this easy fudge recipe is sure to become a staple during Christmas time.
