One pan chocolate lava pudding with sauce! This is so easy and makes a soft, tender cake with glossy chocolate sauce underneath.

Prepare ingredients for your chocolate lava pudding; most ingredients are pantry staples. 

INGREDIENTS

Whisk brown sugar, cocoa, and salt in one bowl. Put flour, baking powder, sugar, additional cocoa, and salt in another bowl.

WHISK

Mix melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla in a jug until well combined.

WET INGREDIENTS

Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir with a spatula until combined.

BLEND WET AND DRY MIX

The chocolate lava pudding batter will be quite thick. This is normal!

GLOSSY MIX

Spread the chocolate lava pudding batter evenly in a baking dish and smooth the top.

SPREAD BATTER

Sprinkle the sugar and cocoa mixture over the batter, then lightly shake to distribute it evenly.

SPRINKLE

Pour hot water carefully over the chocolate lava pudding, using the back of a spoon to cover the entire top surface.

HOT WATER

Bake the chocolate lava pudding until the top springs back lightly when touched and the bottom is slightly jiggly. Take care not to overbake or you'll lose the sauce.

BAKE

Remove the dish from the oven and let the chocolate lava pudding stand for 2-3 minutes. Then serve immediately, scooped into bowls with cream or ice cream on top. Enjoy the compliments!
