INGREDIENTS

ZEST THE LEMON

Place flour in a large bowl and zest the lemon directly into it, saving the lemon for its juice later.

ADD BUTTER

Add cold butter to the bowl.

RUB THE BUTTER AND FLOUR

Rub the butter into the flour and lemon zest until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Toss through the sugar.

ADD BUTTERMILK

Add buttermilk and mix gently to form a lumpy dough. Easy lemon scones have the best texture when the dough is lumpy!

KNEAD AND SHAPE

Lightly knead the lemon scone dough on a floured surface just to bring together. Press into a square about 1.5" high.

CUT

Cut your easy lemon scones into triangles using a floured knife, dusting it between each cut.

LINED PAN

Place the lemon scones onto a lined sheet pan.

BAKE

Bake your gorgeous and easy lemon scones until they are lightly golden and puffed.

LEMON GLAZE

Drizzle the scones with a simple lemon glaze made from juice and powdered sugar.

SERVE
