Mince garlic.
Chop Chinese Broccoli into large pieces.
Pile the chopped Chinese broccoli into a steamer basket or tray.
Blanch the vegetables for 3-4 minutes. Once done, immediately drop them into a basin of cold water to stop cooking.
Place steamed Chinese vegetables on paper towels and pat dry.
Transfer into a shallow bowl.
Heat oil in a small pan over medium-high heat and cook garlic until it turns golden at the edges.
Pour the hot garlic oil over the plated vegetables. Add soy or oyster sauce.
