Steamed Vegetables

For authentic Chinese steamed green vegetables, you'll need: Chinese greens, garlic, peanut oil and oyster sauce.

Chop garlic finely. Fresh garlic is a must, no stuff from a jar here.

Chinese steamed green vegetables should be VERY well washed before cooking! Slice into even strips.

Arrange the chopped Chinese greens in a steamer basket or tray.

Steam the Chinese greens, then immediately transfer them to a basin of cold water to halt the cooking process.

Put the Chinese steamed green vegetables on paper towels and gently pat them dry.

Placed the steamed greens in a shallow bowl or platter.

Heat oil and sauté the garlic until it becomes golden.

Pour the hot garlic oil over the plated Chinese steamed green vegetables.

For that true Chinese restaurant touch, pour oyster sauce over the plated Chinese steamed vegetables. Serve immediately and enjoy!
